The U.K

,We have learnt about the cardinal and inter cardinal points of a compass. Outside we followed the compass points to find the hidden letters.The letters found made up the word GEOGRAPHY.

After learning about 4 figure grid references, we went outside to put our knowledge to the test. We had to find the given grid references and locate the hidden words.We discovered that all the words were the names of cities in the U.K.

We used Digimaps to locate Chorley and then Astley Park. We compared what the park is like now to that of the past. Today it is very built up around the park but there is still green space for people to enjoy.

We have located cities in the U.K. in an atlas using the index and grid references to help us.

We have been learning about symbols used on maps.
