Religious Education

'Let Your Light Shine'

Matthew 5:16

Welcome to RE at St Peter's CE Primary School

At St Peter's our strong and distinctive Christian ethos is rooted in the life of our school and through our motto to love, challenge and inspire one another.

Religious Education is planned and taught from the scheme of work provided by the Blackburn Board of Education and supplemented by Understanding Christianity. Through this work, we provide opportunities for our children to develop academically and spiritually. The content of our syllabus enables children to go on a quest of discovery to learn more about themselves, their relationship with others, their relationship with the world around them and their relationship with God.

Our Vision and Values

We believe that our children can shine and grow in confidence with God’s love through our challenging and values centred curriculum; to love one another as Jesus loved us, to challenge each other and ourselves and be inspired by the love of God to love learning as disciples of Jesus.

Please find below our planning cycle for EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Within these units staff have the opportunity to explore the supplementary units of their choice.
