Today we met and worked out with GB athlete Sophie Watson. She led us through her drills and warm ups. We practised lunges, pendulums, opening and closing the gate, high kisks, ladder and hurdle drills.
We then practised our response to starting a sprint race. We learnt the correct starting position. We improved our start times by sitting then starting, sitting the opposite way, lying on our bellies then starting to sprint.
We even ran against Sophie and Miss Lever.
The afternoon was so amazing and inspiring.
We all want to join Horwich Harriers!
