Simchat Torah
Elm class have learned all about the Jewish celebration "Simchat Torah". It is when the Jewish people finish reading the Torah and start again from the beginning. We received a letter from Zoe, who is Jewish, that explains that at "Simchat Torah" people sing and dance and some members of the congregation are chosen to come and read from the Torah. We then answered our "Big Question" which was 'why is Simchat Torah so valued by Jewish people?' We ended the afternoon by making flags which are waved during the celebration.
