The Great Lancashire Debate
This year's debate had the question:
If you could change one thing about your local area to make it a better place to live and visit for everyone in Lancashire, what would it be? How would your idea make a difference?
In Year 5 we decided to pick littering as our one issue plaguing our community that would make a massive difference. We carried out our own research and found out what the council currently does and then we devised our own solutions and ideas for how we could decrease littering in Chorley. We were delighted to be the winners for our area and this meant we got to attend the Debate Finals held at County Hall in Preston. We delivered our debate to a panel of judges, who were very impressed with the passion we spoke about our issue. Freya was awarded best overall individual speaker and we all received a trophy and goody bag.
