Connecting Networks
Today we learnt how information is transmitted across a network. We learnt that messages are passed through a network switch, and we used role-play to demonstrate how information moves within a network.
We then learnt that messages can also be transmitted between different networks. To enable this, a router is required. A router directs messages to their intended destination. We further explored this concept by role-playing the functions of routers, network switches, and information.
The lesson concluded with a discussion on network security, focusing on how networks can be protected by allowing or blocking certain messages.
