As part of our “Digital Printing” unit, we have been looking at different artists such as Mondarin, Matisse and Kandinsky.

Have a look at our interpretations of Kandisky’s famous painting “Squares with Concentric Circles”. We used the Paintz website to create it with the paint, fill, undo, shape and pencil tools.

We have started our "Digital Literacy" lessons. Today we learnt that we can be Digital Citizens. This means we are Someone who uses technology safely and responsibly. We looked at how we can do this and made a pledge about how are are going to stay safe online.

Some ideas are:
* To ask a grown up before going online.
* Setting a time limit so we don't go on for too long.
* To only talk to our friends online.
* To not share passwords or usernames.
* To tell a grown up if something we see online scares or upsets us.

As part of our Digital Literacy lessons, we have been looking at when it is not OK to use devices. This could be because of safety reasons, it being rude or not showing respect.

We then wrote advice for a grown up we know that can get distracted by their devices. Here are some examples of advice the children have given!

Today we celebrated "Safer Internet Day".

We started off looking at how technology has changed over the years - the children couldn't believe that phones originally had to be plugged in, didn't have cameras or the internet! The children then sorted different devices into the oldest to the newest.

We then read a story about two children who like watching videos online. The two children were watching their favourite video about penguins and then suddenly another video began which made the worried and scared. The children made the right choice and turned it off and went and told their Dad. Their Dad then changed their settings on the tablet and praised the children for telling him.

We then discussed what we learnt from the story, how each part would have made the children feel and who their trusted adults are.
