Our Year 5 Science Trip to St. Michael’s

We met a mad scientist who made foaming chemicals and explosions with methylated spirits. She showed us indicators and transformed a liquid which looked clear into pink liquid by mixing with another clear liquid - magic or science?

We explored the force of shapes by constructing spaghetti towers held together with marshmallows.

We had so much fun looking closely at lilies and tulips to find and name their parts, including male and female parts.

The human gestation period - we used fruit and vegetables to help us understand how a baby grows while it is inside the womb.

Learning about why we have day and night. It took a lot of discussion in our groups to decide where we needed to position ourselves and where the labels needed to be.

We found out all about the phases of the moon. We used cookies to help us!
