Expressive Arts and Design

Enjoying music!

The children carried out activities linked to the book ‘Egg Drop’. They worked in groups to design something to protect the eggs when they were dropped from a height. Also, the children designed their own flying eggs.

We read Hattie Peck and the story inspired us to design, make and test our own boats.

We painted poppy fields. First, we used watercolours to paint the landscape and then used corks to print the poppies.

We used our fine motor skills to create peg soldiers.

We developed our skills using clay and tools to create hedgehogs.

We manipulated clay to create spiky cases for conkers.

We used bark to create a tree trunk and then used corks to print the leaves.

Observational drawings of fruit and vegetables.

We have been learning about Harvest. We enjoyed tasting different fruit and vegetables.

We used our cutting skills when we created our own Little Red Hen.

We looked at the work of Kandinsky. We were inspired to create a Kandinsky style Elmer.

We made elephant puppets.
