Prevent strategy

Prevent

We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism. Prevent is a government strategy designed to stop people becoming terrorists  or supporting terrorist or extremist causes. Many of the things we do in school to help pupils become positive, happy members of society also contribute to the Prevent strategy. All of the DSLs at St. Peter's CE primary school have undertaken Prevent training and teachers have done an online session on Channel which is a programme which focuses on providing support at an early stage to people who are identified as being vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism.  The aims of Channel are to support and protect people who may be susceptible to radicalisation and ensure they have the resilience to resist all forms of violent extremism.
