Health and Wellbeing

Physical Activity is a great way to keep our body and mind healthy. Exercise includes playing and having fun with our friends outdoors. We learnt some new games for playtime.

We have learnt about vaccines - what they are and why they are given. To help us understand the term ‘Herd Immunity’, we used balloons to act as the virus attacking our bodies.

The importance of good oral hygiene.

In science and PSHE, we have been learning about teeth and how to have good oral hygiene. We used our knowledge to create board games. Before we started, we played a couple of other board games to help us with planning and creating our own.

YOGA to calm body and mind.

We practised breathing exercises and body stretches. We chanted positive affirmations such as "I am happy", "I feel good".

We loved the game when one of us was leader and another was detective, guessing who was leading the class through lotus position, stretching and lunging then into dog position with a wagging tail! Then final stretch and wave to the sun.

We felt relaxed, calm and even a little tired afterwards but it was a happy, glowing tired. The breathing exercises we will definitely use in class.
