WOW Events!

This morning we had the NHS Quit Smoking Squad visit us. They told us all the body parts that can be damaged by long term smoking! They showed us images of what lungs should look like compared to a persons lungs that have smoked for a long period of time! The squad also informed us of the dangers of second hand smoke.  The effects that smoking has on the person that is smoking is the same for anybody that is around that person.
We have had an absolutely fantastic day at Blackpool Zoo! The sun was shining for us! We saw lots of different animals and many that linked to our Africa topic! The children's behaviour was impeccable, they were a credit to St Peter's!
This morning we have had another visit from Chorley Angels! They were teaching us to know what to do if somebody is unconscious. They have learnt how to give CPR. They all got to have a try at giving CPR!
Today we have to come to school wearing red and having wacky hair to raise money for comic relief!
Today we celebrated World Book Day! The children had to come to school dressed as a character from a book written by either Julia Donaldson, Roald Dahl, David Walliams or J.K Rowling. All the children looked fantastic, a big thank you to all the parents for their effort!
This morning we had a giant brain come into school! We learnt all about the different parts of the brain and what we use it for!
This morning we had our dojo treat! Those children that had 95% free dojo’s had not chocolate and watched the snow dog! Those with 100% had marshmallows and squirty cream on their hot chocolate!
This afternoon we had a visit from the Chorley Angels who came and spoke to us about first aid and gave us some ideas on how to look after someone if they get hurt. They also asked the children if they knew their address incase of an emergency and only a couple of the children knew it. It would be really great if your child could practice saying it.
Today we dressed as super heroes to raise money for Children in Need and Diabetes charities. We really enjoy it!
We celebrated friendship day by coming to school with wacky hair!!
We had a some special visitors this afternoon. Sylvie brought Marley her guide dog along with her friend, Dave and his guide dog, Elsie.  The children loved hearing all about the special work the dogs do. They then got a chance to give the dogs a stroke!
This morning we have had an exciting morning! Hannah from Chorley Sport Partnership came and taught us come Les Mills dance moves!
This afternoon we have had a fantastic afternoon! To celebrate Roald Dahl day we have done lots of science experiments like George does in George’s marvellous medicine! We did an experiment in our class, then went to Almond class and then did one in Birch class!
This morning the children had a motivational assembly with a man called Sean. He was on a car accident 27 years ago, which left him in a wheelchair. He turned the experience into a positive by completing lots of challenges for charity such as, climbing mountains, completing marathons and jumping out of plane. Today he is giving all the classes a try at wheel chair basket ball! 😊
