Earthquakes and Volcanoes

We enjoyed our virtual tour of volcanoes, witnessing some fantastic images as we circled around erupting and dormant volcanoes.

We have been learning about the structure of our earth and compared an apple to the 3 layers - the core, mantle and crust.

Our world is made up of tectonic plates. We live on the Eurasian plate. These plates move and to help us understand this, we did two activities. We created a tectonic plate jigsaw to show how the plates move in different direction. We also used a bowl of custard and chocolate. This showedus how the plates move around on the mantle.
