Clay work

Lesson 5 - now to be a SCULPTOR! Using clay and inspired by Barbara and Henry, we made our own clay, abstract sculptures which hint at human figures and conversations.

EYFS have began their journey into clay - making clay conker shells to hold a conker. We manipulated the malleable clay into a ball and then pushed our fingers into the ball to make a pinch pot. Then we pulled out spikes from the clay and smoothed the inside.

KS1 used clay to create a penguin.

During Faith Week Class 3 looked at the work of Keith Haring. This inspired the children to use clay to create a community.

Class 3 used clay to create Easter bunnies.

CLAY COIL POTS IN YEAR 6

Here's our first experimentation with clay coil pots. We will develop our skills further and look closer at Greek urns in history to challenge our slab building techniques!
