Namakarana Sanskar

As part of our Baptism unit, the children brought in photographs of them being christened. We then discussed what happens at a baptism. We then spoke about why baptism is special to Christians. Abeyson told us that in Hinduism, the ceremony is traditionally known as Namkaran or Namakarana Sanskar, this ceremony is conducted in an elaborate form on the 31st day after birth in Sri Lanka.
