Wire

YEAR 3

Drawing with wire - building on from drawing leaves, we have experimented drawing in wire. Our leaves will be incorporated into a textile project based on 'The Tin Forest'.

YEAR 5 'TREES'

Year 5 have developed drawings from their sketchbooks into wire trees. Some are windswept and gnarled. Some are statuesque and majestic. What perseverance to twist and sculpt the wire. They will be displayed on twigs or stones found in the school woodlands.

Class 10 have embarked on an exciting cross-curricular project using wire. We explored figure drawing in sketchbooks then looked at the sculptor, Giacometti, who worked in metal.

We experimented drawing ourselves during a PE session exploring matching, mirroring and counter balances. Here are our completed sculptures. Look in Class 10’s art page to see the full journey and how our work developed.

Class 3 have been learning about Easter symbols. The children used wire to create crosses.
