2022-2023

We noticed that we don’t recycle our rubbish at lunchtime so we decided to order recycling bins to help our environment. We helped children to sort their rubbish and put in the appropriate bins - paper, plastic and general waste.

After the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, we decided to raise money to support the people who have been affected. We made and sold Valentine’s Day sweet bags and the school cook made heart biscuits. We also invited all pupils to bring loose change into school to create class ‘money words showing our support. We raised £333!

For anti bullying week we organised a spot the difference and a word search competition. Well done to our winners. They each received a booked about anti-bullying.

We organised Children in Need activities. We raised a lot of money for the charity by inviting children to wear spotty clothes and organising a ‘Guess the name of the teddy’ competition.

We announced the winner of our ‘Guess the name of the teddy’ competition in the hall. Thank you to everyone that entered.

Parliament week

Our year 6 school councillors were invited to the town hall to find out a little more about parliament. We met Sir Lindsay Hoyle and the Mayor of Chorley. They spoke about their roles within parliament and we had the opportunity to ask them questions. After refreshments, we took part in 2 debates with children from other schools.

We were even treated to a free raffle at the end of the session! 🙊
