Wild Peas Outdoor Club

Week 1

We enjoyed building our own shelter using taup, pegs and rope. We also learnt how to make a prusik knot.

Week 2

We have made fire today! 🔥

Week 3

This week, our focus was navigation. John spoke to us about ways in which we can find our way without using maps. We looked at a compass and signs in nature. We then followed a trail which was made of sticks to create symbols.

Week 4

What a fantastic end to our Wild Peas Adventure. Today we made bread on an open fire. First we had to make the dough in a plastic bag. Next, we had to whittle a stick with a knife. We made our dough into a sausage shape and then twisted it around the top of the stick. Cooking the bread was fun but a little smokey! Some children were very brave and even tasted their bread!
