Science

In our science lesson today, we planned and carried out a fair test to investigate how the time taken for a planet to orbit the sun is affected by the distance it is away from the sun!

Today, we learned about the different phases of the moon. We used Oreo biscuits to illustrate how the moon appears to us at different times in its cycle!

Today, we have been learning about reproduction in flowering plants. We dissected lilies to explore the parts more closely, we then labelled the parts of a flower and discussed their role in the reproductive process.

In our lesson today, we investigated different ways to classify and group animals. At our tables, we discussed our ideas and explored various different ways to group animals based on their shared characteristics.

Living Things and their Habitats - Today we went outside to observe our local environment. We closely looked at the things we see every day and we thought about how they may change throughout the year.

To celebrate the anniversay of Roald Dahl's birthday we carried out some science experiments inspired by some of his books! We enjoyed making lava lamps, experimenting with sweets and making a see-saw! There was also a Wonka chocolate bar awarded for amazing questioning skills!
