Meeting Daniel Purvis
Today we met an Olympic Gymnast! He was amazing. We saw some of his epic routines on the rings that won him an Olympic bronze medal.
We completed 4 circuits to build up stamina and strength. Some of us sponsored ourselves to save up funds for school and other hopeful athletes who need funding to help train full time. He taught us perseverance as he never gave up despite some hiccups along his career. He controlled his nerves over the years at competition level but loved gymnastics just because it was fun and he has made life long friends.
ORIENTEERING
We have been using our bodies in teams to create words and letters.
Orienteering is all about working as a team, using maps and organising ourselves by following a map and collecting clues.
GYMNASTICS
We have explored different ways to travel.
Next we have improved our 2,3 and 4 point balances.
We have worked with a partner to mirror a routine.
We have remembered our own sequences which include ways of travelling and point balances.
We have built up to use apparatus and started to include a dismount.
FREDDIE FIT IS BACK!
We love Freddie Fit - a healthy body helps a healthy mind.
We can feel our hearts beating with the aerobic exercise.
We feel positive and energised due to the exercise releasing endorphins into our blood.
We recognise key muscles.
We learn what is healthy to eat.
