History

St Peter's Antique's Roadshow - We have had an enjoyable afternoon looking at all of the artefacts that the children have brought into school.

All week, we have been working on the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ by John McCrae. We have dug deep to reflect on what the different lines mean and explored the imagery in the poem. We have worked on learning the poem by heart, so we could perform it as a class. We learned about using correct intonation, volume and tone for the different verses.

Roman trip to Chester

In our guided reading we have been reading about the death and burial of Richard III. We re-enacted this to help us to understand what happened!

To start our new topic about the Romans, we began to explore the chronology of the Roman era. We went to look at our outside timeline where we were able to locate the Roman period and discuss other things that were happening at the same time, before and after. We then spent time creating our own chronological timeline of various periods in history and then spoke about where the Romans fit in.
