WOW Events

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a fantastic experience we’ve had this afternoon! Thanks to Lancashire Crazy Golf we have played crazy golf! The children loved it and have said they want to play it more! ⛳️

We have had a visit today from Rachel and Charlie from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. We learnt the good and bag things a fire can be used for. We then discussed the use of matches and children should not touch them. Rachel and Charlie then explained what we need to do if our clothes set on fire; stop, drop and roll!  A child in a wheelchair would need somebody to put a coat on them and pat them to stop the fire spreading. We then learned how a smoke alarm works and how there is a clever alarm for people that are deaf.

smokey the fire Teddy taught us his fire plan:

Check the door handles to see if they’re cold or hot.

Crawl on the floor

Shout to warn other people

Once outside, NEVER go back inside.
Call the Fire Brigade

This morning, PCSO Derek has come into school to talk to us about the dangers of the roads and how we can stay safe. Derek explained that 30 children under the age of 11 a week or killed or seriously injured on the road each week across the UK. He reminded us that until a child turns 14, it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure their passengers are wearing seat belts.

Today we are celebrating King Charles' coronation! We have made our own scones, crowns and we have also created a piece of artwork to commemorate it!

We also had a picnic lunch!

Today we all came to school dressed as pop stars! We had Freddie Mercury, Arianna Grande, Punkstars, Marshmellow Man, Ed Sheeran plus many more! This was all to raise money for a local charity, Cash For Kids.

As a treat for all their hard work, the children were treated to an Easter egg hunt and they all got to make a chocolate rice crispie cake!

Wow! What a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day! We have lots of different book characters! All the children look amazing! We have watched "The Masked Reader", we have spoke about our favourite books, we have completed our spelling bee and we have also listened to lots of different stories!

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a fantastic day we had at Chester Zoo! The children had an amazing time and were so excited! It was such a joy to see their smiley faces all day! It was an experience they will never forget!

Today we took part in a reindeer run. We brought in items to donate to the homeless.

We have had an exciting morning! We have “Teach Rex” visit. They told us a story all about a dragon called Luna. We then had to teach her how to behave around villagers. We taught her to gently knock hats off peoples head and then we tried to develop her listening skills. The children loved it and were very engaged! Even the teachers had to get involved! 🐉

Today we have come to school dressed as what would like to be when we grow up! We have lots of different careers ideas!

We had our “bed time story day” today. The children came to school wearing their pyjamas or comfy clothes. We decided to read our books in different places around the school and we also shared our favourite book with a friend ☺️

Today we celebrated Roald Dahl’s birthday! We read some of George’s Marvellous Medicine and then we decided to create some of our own experiments!

For our first experiment, we put a gummy bears in a test tube of water. In one test tube we added warm water and in the other cold and we observed what  happened to the bear. The next experiment, we placed skittles in a bowl with water and watched what happened. In our final experiment, we created our own volcano using vinegar, food colouring and bicarbonate of soda!
