This afternoon we went to church for a baptism. Father Peter explained why baptisms happened. He also explained why babies are normally baptised. He then explained the three different parts of a baptism, the holy water, the holy and the baptism candle. We used a doll, called Lucy-Ann and we also had parents and godparents. Father Peter conducted the ceremony, like he normally would. The other children responded as the congregation would.

This afternoon Father Peter came to talk to KS1. He told us why we celebrate Easter and the importance of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. He showed us different symbols linked to Easter such as palm leaves, palm cross, Easter eggs and hot cross buns.
