A new team of Money Mentors led us through a lesson about 'Financial Risks' and, in particular, the dangers of borrowing money. We played a game which proved how easy it is to be addicted to gambling and that we rarely win. The lesson explained good and bad reasons to borrow money and which creditors are safe to borrow from. Mortgages and cars often mean people borrow from banks and building societies but that some other companies and pay day loans charge enormous levels of interest.
The team worked well together and made us all think of the pressures that our families can be under when managing finances.
