MAKING REED BOATS FOR THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS

We have learned how important the River Nile was to the Ancient Egyptians for food production and farming, hunting, drinking and transporting heavy materials as well as people.

We worked in pairs to make a 'reed' boat similar to simple fishing boats used by the Ancient Egyptians. We challenged ourselves attaching all the sections, a mast and paddle. Knotting good knots was a real challenge!

HOMEWORK - TO RESEARCH SOME ASPECT OF THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS

We selected from pharoahs or pyramids - anything that interested us and then we presented to the class. Our classmates jotted down any new facts they had learnt.
