Maths No Problem

This morning we have started our new maths topic of fractions. We are learning how to find half of a shape. This morning we are investigating which shapes can be cut exactly in half. We know that both parts need to be exactly the same.

We are learning how to use the “Bar Model”.

Today we are learning to represent numbers using dienes and complete a place value chart!

Today we have been learning how to represent numbers using dienes! We know the “sticks” represent 10 and the “smaller cubes” represent ones or are often called units.

This morning we are comparing numbers to 20. We learned the words fewer, fewest and more.
This morning we worked in pairs to show numbers to 20 using ten frames, as a word and also as a digit.
This morning we are learning to represent numbers to 20 on our ten frame. We have learned we can “count on” from 10 to count our cubes.
This morning we are learning inverse number sentences! We have learned the rule that when we are adding the whole number is at the end of our number sentence and when we are taking away it is at the end. We will be doing lots of practising this week!
