WOW Events

Today we took part in the spelling bee! We had 5 children that made it through to the final! We needed a tie breaker as two children spelt all 30 words correctly in under two minutes! Eventually we crowned Lexi as the spelling bee for Elm class! 🐝

Today we are celebrating vocabulary day! We have all come dressed as a word!

To celebrate Earth Day, we discussed how we can make the world a better place. We thought that we need to look after the ground. We then thought about what farmers would say as they look after plants and animals. We used the "Mash Cams" on Purple Mash to make a paperless poster about saving the planet!

We made Christmas hats to wear on our Christmas dinner day!

To start our “rock around the clock” day, we listened to the famous song and then we made our own clocks! We then learned the words “minute hand” and “hour hand”. We then used our clocks to show different o’clock times and solve problems e.g. what would it be 1 hour later/earlier? We learned the days of the week and months of year by learning different songs. We have also learnt the difference. We ended the day playing time bingo which the children loved!

We dressed up for Children in Need!
We completed a fitness circuit for Children in Need like Joe Wicks!

We came to school today dressed in yellow to support young people’s mental health on World Mental Health Day!

This afternoon we have spoke about supporting each other. We discussed that we work better a team. The children know that it is better to talk about how they are feeling so they can the help and support they need. Together we lined up our coins, and discussed that coins are worth more when they are together and we are better when we are together.

We learned a new calming exercise - yoga!
