LKS2 have had a great time getting fit with Freddie.  He kept us all entertained whilst exercising to keep healthy.  We tried lots of fun ways to get our heart racing, including hula hooping and even trying out a bit of limbo.  We learned about lots of ways we can keep our bodies active and fit, such as drinking eight glasses of water a day and getting plenty of sleep.
As part of 'Healthy Me' month, LKS2 have been busy planning and making a healthy snack.  We researched different food groups and found out what nutrients we should be eating and how we can have a balanced diet.  We then made a pasta dish which included lots of healthy vegetables and ingredients to give us energy.  We all enjoyed tasting our healthy pasta!

Classes 7 and 8 had a lot of fun and learned lots of interesting information in the Life Education Bus today.  We found out all about important organs in our body, including the lungs.  We learned how smoking cigarettes could affect our lungs and how it can cause breathing problems as well as other diseases.  We were shocked to learn that the liver has over 500 different jobs to do in our body.  We also explored how our brain works and sends messages around our body.

Finally, we met Harold the giraffe and thought about how we can reach compromises with our friends, rather than falling out.  It was a really enjoyable and informative session.
