Art Club

Chalk pastel landscapes - we explored colour intensity and blending techniques to create beautiful poppy field landscapes

YEAR 4 CHIAROSCURO - the challenge of shading in the dark! Careful observation of where light is falling and shadows are darker and lighter.

Year 4 - Still life in a range of drawing media; 2B, 6B, graphite stick, charcoal and chalk. Observational skills improving and comments from other children.

MARK ROTHKO inspired us to paint abstract and respond to colours. Our stimulus was Spring - tulips, bright lime trees, bluebell woods and blossom. We challenged ourselves with large paintbrushes and to 'feel' the paint and respond to colours.

YEAR 4 ART CLUB - LOOKING AT IMPRESSIONISTS SUCH AS VINCENT VAN GOGH AND CONTEMPORARY ARTIST LUKE EDWARD HALL - challenge in having a feel for the paint, being challenged with a bright coloured background, challenged with a range of 3 large brushes and challenge in 40 minutes to finish!
