Writing at St. Peter's follows the plan devised by Lancashire Literacy Team. There is an immense focus on grammar in our school to help children during the KS1 (Year 2) and KS2 (Year 6) GPS SAT.
We start our lessons with a grammar focus to help embed key skills which will then be used independently throughout the literacy lesson and across the curriculum.
Here is the document - scroll down to find your child's year group expectations.
The Grammar Glossary will help with all the technical terms our children need to know.
Fast Track Grammar in Year 6
3 groups are working on grammar skills. We use games and interactive activities to consolidate our understanding of questions, commands, nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions and all the other key learning in grammar.
