KS1 UK seasons and weather

n Autumn, the leaves in the trees change colour and begin to fall off. Nuts and fruits are ready to be harvested. We know that acorns grow on oak trees and confers grow on horse chestnut trees. Animals collect food ready for the winter and the weather becomes a little cooler. Also, the days are shorter which means that it goes dark sooner.

We went on a walk to look for the signs of Autumn and took photos with the iPad.

We have been Aron an Autumn treasure hunt.

We have been thinking about the signs of autumn. The weather changes, the leaves on the tress turn from green to red, brown, orange and yellow and the animals begin to prepare for winter. Fruits and vegetables are also harvested. We took photos and drew pictures of what we could see.

In winter, the trees are bare, the ground is wet and muddy and the days are very short. It is cold and we wear warm clothes like hats, scarves and gloves. We have hot food and drinks. We took our own photos of the signs of winter.
