CROSS CURRICULAR GEOGRAPHY
Years 5 and 6 in the Upper Juniors have been finding out all about Volcanoes. In art, we have studied abstract art and used images of lava explosions to inspire an abstract relief painting.
First, in our sketchbooks, we made preparatory sketches and paintings of lava flow and shapes. We noticed the textures of molten and cooled lava. We decided to use mod-roc to create these textures and then painted our relief canvases when dry.
