YOGA to calm body and mind.
Hawthorn Class practised breathing exercises and body stretches. We chanted positive affirmations such as "I am happy", "I feel good".
We loved the game when one of us was leader and another was detective, guessing who was leading the class through lotus position, stretching and lunging then into dog position with a wagging tail! Then final stretch and wave to the sun.
We felt relaxed, calm and even a little tired afterwards but it was a happy, glowing tired. The breathing exercises we will definitely use in class.
Chestnut class had a relaxing end to their afternoon with Yogi, practising breathing exercise, yoga stretches and relaxation techniques. We are looking forward to using some of the new activities we learnt in class throughout the year.
Beech class had a great yoga session, which helped us to develop our breathing techniques and strategies for our own mindfulness and mental health.
