KS1 Fruit and Veg Project

Lesson 3 - Elm class continued to develop their observational drawing skills. We then learned how to paint using water colours.

Lesson 3 - Year 2 have continued to make fabulous progress. We have built up our observational skills and introduced watercolours.

Lesson 2 - Year 2 in Almond Class Pumpkins, butternut squash and peppers in chalk pastels.

Lesson 1 - drawing in 2b and 6b then developed into chalk pastels

Elm Class - Year 1 have developed their observation skills further with chalk pastel, charcoal and chalk.

Today, KS1 started our project celebrating Harvest and fruit and vegetables. We set up 'Still Life' arrangements of pumpkins, peppers and aubergines to help our observation skills and drawing in sketchbooks. We used 2b and 6b pencils. Some children could express how they loved the darkness of the 6b and that they could smudge 6b lines with their fingers.

We all concentrated really well to keep looking at the shapes and lines and textures of the fruit and veg.

Next week - colour with chalk pastels.

We are looking at artists from the Impressionist period such as Cezanne and Renoir.
